The Lebanese Parliament cancels the session of confidence in the Minister of Foreign Affairs due to lack of a quorum

Beirut – “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”: The current parliament has not had the opportunity to record in its mandate its ability to be held accountable through A proposal of confidence in the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdallah Bou Habib At the request of the Lebanese Forces deputies against the background of the behavior of some ambassadors and consuls abroad and their work to disperse the voices of expatriates in countries that tend to vote against the regulations of the Free Patriotic Movement. As expected by Al-Quds Al-Arabi, the quorum was not achieved due to the absence of parliamentary blocs that did not see that the timing of the vote of confidence was successful, at the forefront of which was the “Future Bloc,” from which only Representative Samir Al-Jisr attended, while the total number of deputies present reached 53, so what was the Secretary-General of the Council Adnan Daher only announced the cancellation of the meeting.

The head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, asked, “Why did he put confidence in the Minister of Foreign Affairs as long as the decision was issued by the Minister of the Interior?” voters the wrong way,” he added, in an implicit reference to the troops, “to pay the price for their stupidity and stupidity added to their militia style.”

The deputy head of the Forces Party, MP George Adwan Bassil, accused him of being “the actual foreign minister, and he is an active member of the system that brought Lebanon here and leaves his deposits in the ministries, especially Pascal Dahrouj, which is in charge of organizing the elections instead of Minister Bou Habib.” He said, “The 220,000 expatriates who registered to vote, at least 40 percent of them have been displaced during the past years because of this system, which includes the actual foreign minister, and therefore I understand that he is afraid of their vote.” The Amal movement and Hezbollah objected to Germany and their request was fulfilled. An example of the many objections is that Bishop Elias Abdullah Zaidan in Los Angeles sent a letter to the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs saying that what is happening makes us believe that the mistakes that are taking place are not innocent and that the officials are either not are competent or do not want non-residents to vote.”

Minister Bou Habib responded to Adwan’s words, and addressed him by saying, “We were together in the days of the war, and he was a “shadow” at the time, and not me today, as he accused me of knowing that I “played the chair” and no one dictated to me what to do.

The confidence session was held in light of negative political messages directed by the Covenant and its current to Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who adhered to the parliament’s internal system and set a session to cast confidence in the Minister of Foreign Affairs affiliated with the Covenant and Bassil, which President Michel Aoun and his son-in-law saw as an attempt by Speaker Berri to hit two birds with one stone. And the “zakka” current. President Aoun took the initiative to launch a winking position on Speaker Berri’s channel by talking about “political protection enjoyed by those who manipulate the financial situation in the country, and there are reports by local and international specialists indicating the presence of parties whose aim is to aggravate the situation, including those in a position of power,” to be followed by the MP Bassil said, “There is no reason to re-elect Speaker Berri to head the parliament.”
