KPCC General Secretary PA Salim said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the architect of modern India, was a multifaceted genius who left his mark as India’s first Prime Minister, freedom struggle leader, political philosopher, author and historian. He was delivering the keynote address at the Nehru Birthday Celebration Program organized by OICC Dammam Regional Committee as part of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s 134th birthday celebrations.

Known as ‘Chachaji’, who was fond of children, Nehru’s birthday is celebrated as Children’s Day in the country. But while celebrating Children’s Day this year, the world is realizing the absence of Nehru-like leaders as the nations of the world look on with indifference at the terrible situation of killing thousands of babies in West Asia.

He added that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance of calling up the war-mongering ruler of West Asia over the phone is condemnable and once morest the great tradition of India. OICC Saudi National Committee President Biju Kallumala presided.

Global Committee Vice President C Abdul Hameed, Regional Committee office bearers EK Salim and Rafiq Kutilangadi spoke. Hanif Rauthar, Chandramohanan, Shihab Kayamkulam, Siraj Purakkad, Shamsu Kollam and Sumesh Kattil participated.
