The Alpine Club hut at Rennfeld, the Kernstock-Stüberl in Leutschach, street names and squares, observation towers, monuments and the museum in Festenburg Castle – they all still bear Ottokar Kernstock’s name to this day. Statistics in the 1970s counted more than 200 such Kernstock monuments. How many there are today is not recorded. Across Austria there are probably still around fifty.
