After its anniversary editions, Blancpain unveils its new Fifty Fathoms Automatic models in a more sensible diameter.
Here she is calming down, from the height of her seven decades of existence. Until now, the Fifty Fathoms, Blancpain’s legendary diving watch, was mainly available in an automatic version in an imposing diameter of 45 mm. We had to wait until its 70th anniversary to see the brand offer it in a 42 mm version, but in a limited edition. Good news, eagerly awaited by aficionados of the model: the brand has listened to them! The Fifty Fathoms therefore returns this time in a non-limited edition, in a diameter of 42 mm, with a case in either red gold or grade 23 titanium. Two new products which, this time, join the current collection.

In these new automatic models, we find in fact the same movement as in the Fifty Fathoms Automatic 45 mm: a caliber 1315 offering an impressive constant power reserve of five days thanks to its three barrels mounted in series. This caliber has a red gold oscillating weight decorated and covered with a NAC coating, the design of which is inspired by the rotor of the historic 1953 model.

Presented with a blue or black dial, the red gold version and the titanium version have a wide choice of straps, from sailcloth to NATO to textured “tropic” rubber, directly inspired by the watch. 1953. A titanium bracelet completes the version with a case of the same material.
