Indeed, there are less well-known symptoms of asthma. And for good reason: these only appear in certain circumstances, which are not necessarily suggestive of the disease. According to Dr. Maxime Hosotte, the most classic is “effort asthma”. After a (physical) effort, some people will find it difficult to breathe and may even start coughing. This asthma attack can start several minutes after the end of the effort.

The “equivalent asthma cough” is then noted. It’s about a superficial cough which occurs in a very specific context. Dr. Maxime Hosotte cites the typical case: laughter. “There are some people who, when they laugh a lot, will start coughing”. “It can also happen when people shout, sing or just talk for a long time,” adds the doctor.
