There was a lot of talk about this festival when it launched. And for good reason, the Lizig Celt Fest had achieved the feat, from his first edition in Gersto organize the largest gathering ofactors of the series Kaamelott.
Jonathan Chiche, Yohan Vellaud, Guillaume Briat, Caroline Pascal, Michel Bernini and Bô Gaultier de Kermoal made the trip in Sarrant from June 16 to 18, 2023.
10 000 participants
With success, since this medieval Celtic festival brought together 10,000 people. And what’s more, the event was charitable, in partnership with the association Make Louise dancewho helps a 4-year-old girl with cerebral palsy.
But today, if the organizers are calling for solidarity, it is quite simply to save the festival. For what ?

“As many already know, despite our great success for this first edition, we had the misfortune of having a storm fall on our festival,” say the organizerswho put an explanatory video online. “In less than 10 minutes, we went from a joyful, friendly and festive event to an emergency evacuation of our public and our artists to keep everyone safe,” they continue.
Cancellations that are expensive
“Obligated to have to cancel our two evenings of shows on Saturday and Sunday and also having to warn all our visitors on Sunday that several events were canceled and that a big risk of a new storm was forecast, we then dug a huge hole in our budget“, details the association Carry Fest who carries the project.

Who details the damage: “To date, we have been able, thanks to your presence at the festival, to finance 40% of the budget, or 93,000 euros. However, 137,000 euros are still missing to be able to pay everyone fairly who trusted us and participated in the success of this event.”
And cancellation insurance will not be enough. Thus, the organizers are launching a solidarity kitty so that everyone gets paid. And also have a chance, perhaps, of experiencing a second edition…
