You can live in a big city, be surrounded by dozens of people, communicate constantly via social networks and yet feel lonely. Often nicknamed “the evil of the century”, loneliness is making its place in our societies and has even been aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic. In the United States, it was the subject of a report by the public health administrator, Vivek Murthy, who spoke of an “epidemic of loneliness”.
