Southeast Net reported on December 23 (our reporter Chen Nan) Today, the first Fujian exhibition of the “Lost Jimmy World” immersive interactive drama exhibition world tour kicked off at the Strait Culture and Art Center Art Museum in Fuzhou.
According to reports, Jimmy is a picture book writer who has grown up with countless people. He first published “Secrets in the Forest” and “Smiling Fish” in 1998, and has since completed many classic works. This exhibition is the first large-scale cross-picture book immersive interactive painting exhibition by Jimmy, a well-known Chinese picture book author at home and abroad. The exhibition takes the theme of “possession and loss” as the core, breaking through the previous static painting exhibitions and thematic installation exhibitions. Jimmy’s “Smiling Fish” and “Go Left.” “Go Right”, “The Moon Forgot”, “Lucky Man” and “Lost a Cat” are five representative picture books. They use story scenes, plots, text and other elements from Jimmy’s paintings to create ten parallel narrative spaces, and Using digital technology, interactive installations, and performing arts together with paintings, sculptures, texts, images, and sounds, we hope that the exhibition will not only evoke memories deep in people’s hearts, but also allow parents and children to share childhood memories, providing children with beautiful enjoyment and education. .
Entering the exhibition site, the theme music specially produced by musician Chen Jianqi for the exhibition gently awakens the audience. This special sound throughout the entire venue makes people forgetfully immersed in Jimmy’s world.
Curator Fan Chaowei said that “The Lost World of Jimmy” is a time and space exploration journey that begins a parallel narrative of dreams and reality unfolded in five picture books about Jimmy; it is a beautiful experience of reconnecting with the people and objects in the picture books in the three-dimensional space. A journey of encounter; it is also a journey of reconnection and communication with Jimmy’s town residents and other strangers through the interaction of the drama; it is also a brave journey of finding light, sharing light, and becoming light together.
In the exhibition hall, the audience can scan and open the mini program to accompany the experience throughout the process. The real-life hand-painted paintings with various brush strokes and the interactions of various real-person NPCs will help people understand Jimi in a more three-dimensional and multi-dimensional way. I hope the audience can slow down and experience it attentively.
According to the organizer, this exhibition will last from December 23, 2023 to March 24, 2024. It is the first “exhibition and performance in one” immersive interactive drama exhibition launched by the Strait Culture and Art Center. The artistic landmark building has always anchored the profound goal of building a cultural highland in Fuzhou and creating a cultural business card of the city.
