The marriage of Princess Maria-Laura of Belgium maintained despite the death of Elizabeth II

The marriage of Princess Maria-Laura of Belgium to William Isvy, scheduled for this Saturday, is maintained despite the death of Queen Elizabeth II. A moment of prayer and reflection will however be dedicated to the British monarch during the religious celebration which is to take place in the afternoon.

Aged 34, Maria Laura is the eldest daughter of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz. She has lived and worked in London for several years. Her fiancé, William Isvy (30), was born in Paris and is the son of a British mother and a Franco-Moroccan father. The groom-to-be spent most of his childhood in London and studied finance in Montreal, Canada. The civil ceremony will take place in the wedding hall of the Brussels City Hall, where only the immediate family has been invited. The religious ceremony will take place in front of a larger audience the same day at 2:30 p.m. in the cathedral of Saints Michel and Gudule. More than 500 guests were invited, including the Belgian royal family as a whole.
