The Marshall brand bought by its own manufacturer of portable speakers

Marshall Amplification has been a well-known and recognized brand among musicians for years. We know the brand for its tube and hybrid amp systems dedicated to guitars and basses, but the brand has become more widely established with the general public in recent years with headsets, intraauriculairesbut also bluetooth speakers.

So far, Marshall has relied on Zound Industries for the production of its audio products. There Swedish brand Zound Industries thus produced headphones, intras and speakers by marketing them under the Marshall brand via a licensing agreement.

From name mining to takeover

Unfortunately, if Marshall tried to renew itself by overflowing on its initial activities on amplifiers, the brand has a lot of difficulty to follow financially… This is what explains why it does not directly produce some of its products, but simply lends its brand.

Finally, the situation showing no improvement, Marshall Amplification has just been taken over by Zound Industries, which takes over the brand as well as its patents and technologies.

For both entities, this is a logical next step since Marshall has always made it a point of honor to have the products offered by Zound under its brand validated by its engineers prior to marketing. The rapprochement between the two entities was therefore very real and already went much further than the simple nominee.

The takeover should therefore not change much for the two brands which will maintain their activities. Zound Industries could, however, see its name disappear in favor of the creation of a groupe Marshallbetter known to the general public.
