The two deputies of the Bsharri district, Strida Tawk Geagea and Melhem Tawk, issued a joint statement stating, “In the face of the horror of the infamous crime that led to the fall of the two martyrs, Malik Tawk Tawk and Haytham Jamil Tawk, through treachery in our land at the Martyrs’ Summit known geographically as the “Black Qurna,” we affirm The following points:

First, Bsharri, as it has always been throughout the ages, stands with its old age and youth as one hand in the face of all issues that affect the dignity of its people and their existence in this land.

Secondly, the heinous crime that took place on our land, and led to the martyrdom of two of the finest human youth, requires the alertness and mobilization of all security, judicial and military agencies, ending investigations as soon as possible, arresting the killers, whoever they are, and to whatever side they belong to, bringing them to justice and imposing the most severe punishments on them. Because this crime will not go unnoticed without accountability and punishment.

Third, the ownership of Bcharre in the Martyrs’ Summit has not been and never will be the subject of a dispute of any kind, and it was, is and will remain an integral part of the historical real estate scope of the Bcharre district.

Fourthly, according to the decision and will of the families of the two martyrs, and in order to preserve the image of the city of the presenters, Bsharri, MPs Strida Tawq Geagea and Melhem Tawq call on their families in Jubbat Bsharri to commit not to shoot bullets during the funeral ceremonies of the two martyrs tomorrow, and to replace that with heavy participation and prayer for the comfort of their souls.
