The Mazda2 Hybrid is visually more independent

It was no secret from the start that the Mazda2 Hybrid is actually a Toyota Yaris Hybrid – just with a different logo. However, in the new year that is about to begin, the Mazda2 Hybrid will stand out more strongly from its twin brother.

The small five-door model gets the brand-typical front in the so-called Kodo design, and the look is therefore less rugged. The Japanese word “kodo” means “soul in motion” and describes Mazda’s design idea of breathing life into metal. But that’s it for the external adjustments, because the rear view remains unchanged into the 2024 year.

The touchscreen grows to 10.5 inches.

Inside, the centrally located, larger touchscreen (now 10.5-inch screen diagonal) is noticeable. There will also be a seven or 12.3-inch digital speed display behind the steering wheel. The assistance systems are also being expanded – to include the proactive driving assistant for more comfort and safety at lower speeds, as well as the Emergency Driving Stop System, which automatically stops the Mazda2 Hybrid in an emergency.

One engine, five features

The full hybrid has a system output of 85 kW/116 hp. Overall, the hybrid system is very efficient, the WLTP standard consumption is 3.8 liters per 100 kilometers – which corresponds to 87 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

There is no choice when it comes to the engine, but there is a choice in the equipment versions. There are five versions: Prime-Line, Center-Line, Exclusive-Line, Homura and Homura-Plus. The price list starts at 24,790 euros and goes up to 32,690 euros (Homura Plus). Can be ordered now and will be delivered in February 2024. (schuh)
