Riyadh: The Media Regulatory Authority summoned a young woman for questioning for blaspheming the Prophet through social media. Further action will be taken once morest them. Legal action is being taken once morest the young woman because she shared messages and videos containing the content of blaspheming the Prophet through the X platform. It is found that they defamed the Prophet’s wife Khadija.

Once the media regulatory authority completes its investigation, the case will be handed over to the public prosecution. If found guilty, imprisonment and fine will be imposed. According to the law of the country, the punishment for blasphemy is five years in prison and a fine of 30 lakh riyals.

Meanwhile, a holiday was announced for the private and non-profit sector in Saudi Arabia on the occasion of National Day. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that September 23 will be a public holiday for employees in this sector.

Schools and universities across the country will have a holiday on September 24 to coincide with National Day. Holidays have been announced for educational institutions to give students an opportunity to participate in the celebrations.
