The actors of the Permanent Consultation Framework (CPC) held, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in Lomé, the sixth meeting which marks the opening of the second session of the year with the renewal of the office headed for three months by Mr. Adrien Beleki Accommodated by the CPC. The session will be devoted to issues related to energy policies, environmental protection and financial inclusion. The meeting was held in the office of the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Territorial Development, in the presence of the Minister of State, Payadowa Boukpessi and the Minister Delegate to the President, in charge of Energy and of Mines, Ms. Mawunyo Mila Aziablé.

The office of the Permanent Consultative Framework (CPC) was renewed last Tuesday, in accordance with the provisions of Order No. 0021/MATDTT/2022 of January 18, 2022 on the creation, powers, organization and operation of the said Framework. From now on, the new office of five members is headed by Mr. Akouété Beleki Adrien, president of the Pan-African Patriotic Convention (CCP) and will be responsible for chairing the meetings for the next three months. The new office, through its president, thanked those who placed their trust in them, while seeking their support to hatch innovative ideas, aimed at improving the living conditions of the populations.
In addition to the renewal of the office, the political actors were built on energy policies in Togo, through a presentation made by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mrs. Mila Aziablé. From this presentation, the participants in the meeting were able to retain that Togo’s energy vision is centered around three priorities, namely: increasing energy supply, strengthening energy security and autonomy, and reducing inequalities in access to modern energy services between urban and rural households. To do this, Togo intends to regulate the sustainable energy sector, in order to allow the development of an attractive market for local and international private investors. The measures to achieve the objectives are the densification of localities already electrified (by making the cost of connection accessible to the poorest households and by densifying the MV distribution networks in connection).
“Energy contributes to the development of a country. It is in this respect that we appreciated the communication given by the Minister on energy policy. Overall, Togo is on the right track, with an ambition to make the whole country, by 2030, an energy independent country. However, we have drawn the government’s attention to the problems related to this area and what really needs to be done so that the country is no longer dependent on external support. “said Mr. Akouété, the new president of the CPC session.
Today, the members of the CPC will work on the policy of environmental protection. Tomorrow, they will debate the policy of financial inclusion.
