08 Sept. 2022 – Ms. Chomparee Chompurat, Director-General of the Meteorological Department Issued the Meteorological Department’s announcement on “Heavy to very heavy rains in Thailand and strong winds in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand (affecting until 9 September 2022)” No. 10 dated 08 September 2022 states that

The high pressure area from China covers the upper North. and upper Laos As a result, the strong monsoon trough slides down across the central region. Lower Northeast and the east into a low pressure cell in Cambodia and southern Vietnam. In addition, the relatively strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf of Thailand. Northeastern region, central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, eastern and southern regions have heavy to very heavy rainfall in some places. People in the area should beware of the dangers of heavy rain and accumulated rain. This may cause flash floods and flash floods, especially in the foothill slopes near waterways and in lowland areas during this period.

Northern region: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun.

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.

Central Region: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri and Ratchaburi, including Bangkok and its vicinity.

Eastern region: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

Southern region: Phetchaburi Province Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ranong and Phang Nga

For wind waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will be stronger. The upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand have a wave height of 2-3 meters and an area with thunderstorms with a wave height of more than 3 meters. Sailors in the area should proceed with caution and avoid sailing in thunderstorms. Small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand should remain ashore until 9 September 2022.
