Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez He showed his knowledge of the Baku circuit and this Sunday he will start second at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Although it is a great result for the Mexican and for Red Bull, the driver from Guadalajara expressed his dissatisfaction for not receiving the support of his teammate Max Verstappen.
“There was no damn rebufo (suction) What happened to the motor?” said Checo Pérez as he crossed the finish line.
Team engineer Hugh Bird replied, “We’ll talk when you get back.”
Pérez finished .282 tenths behind Charles Leclerc, in case of receiving the suction of Verstappen’s car there could have been the possibility of achieving pole position for Red Bull.
Pérez in an interview for Formula 1 considered that “it has not been an ideal classification”.
Checo made an analysis of his classification and shared that, “When you make a small mistake and touch a little bit in Q3 it can be bad, but I managed to survive. Tomorrow is a long race and we must be sure to be there. We should not to make mistakes”.
RESPONSE TO CHECO PÉREZ’S COMPLAINT
Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez complained about not receiving Max Verstappen’s slipstream, to which the team’s boss was, Christian Hornerhe replied with a congratulations.
