The Minister of Transport scrutinizes the expansion scheme of a 73 km road with five thoroughfares, stretching from Benha to Mansoura.

Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, along with the President and leaders of the Public Authority for Roads and Bridges, inspected the progress of the project to widen the distance from Banha to Mansoura and build a free road east of Al-Riyah Al-Tawfiqi. This project spans 73 km with a width of 4 main lanes and one service lane in each direction. Moreover, the duplication and upgrading of the eastern Damietta road from Sherbin to Damietta is in progress, as part of the axis linking the New Administrative Capital and the Cairo Governorate with the governorates of Qalyubia, Dakahlia and Damietta. The project aims to separate and absorb high traffic densities, ease the movement of individuals and goods between the governorates, and resolve traffic congestions at the entrances to cities and villages. The minister reviewed the executive status of the project and directed implementing works according to high-quality specifications and adhering to the time schedule. The first stage of the project is set to be completed in the middle of next May, covering the distance from Benha to Kafr Shukr with a length of 15 km, followed by the second phase from Kafr Shukr to Mit Ghamr with a length of 17 km by the end of 2023. Afterwards, work will commence on the third phase from Mit Ghamr to Aga. Upon the opening of each stage and the completion of the entire project from Cairo to Mansoura, the eastern winds will serve the direction from Mansoura to Cairo while the western winds will serve the direction from Cairo to Mansoura.

Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, accompanied by the President and leaders of the Public Authority for Roads and Bridges, conducted an inspection tour to follow up on the implementation of the work of widening the distance from Banha to Mansoura and the construction of a free road east of Al-Riyah Al-Tawfiqi, with a length of 73 km, with a width of 4 main lanes and one service lane in each direction.

In addition, the duplication and upgrading of the eastern Damietta road in the distance from Sherbin to Damietta, where the project is considered part of the axis linking the New Administrative Capital and the Cairo Governorate with the governorates of Qalyubia, Dakahlia and Damietta, to separate and absorb the high traffic densities, to contribute to raising the level of service and facilitating the movement of individuals and the transport of goods between the governorates. The delta and resolving traffic jams at the entrances to cities and villages located on the path of the road to achieve traffic fluidity.

During his tour, the minister reviewed the executive position of the project, where the site linking the road at Banha with the regional ring road and the Cairo-Alexandria agricultural road was completed, and the implementation of a walkway for the people in the distance from the agricultural bridge to the old Benha bridge with a length of 1400 meters was completed, in addition to the completion of the distance from Benha to Esnet is 7 km long.

As well as following up the executive position of the various road sectors in the project, and the Minister directed the need to take into account the high quality specifications in the implementation of all works and the completion of the service road in parallel with the completion of the main road, as well as adherence to the time plan specified for the completion of the various sectors of the project, so that the completion of the first stage in the distance from Benha to Kafr Shukr with a length of 15 km in the middle of next May and the completion of the second phase from Kafr Shukr to Mit Ghamr with a length of 17 km by the end of 2023 and the continuation of work in the third phase from Mit Ghamr to Aga so that it is in the direction of traffic after the opening of each stage and then the opening of the entire project from Cairo to Mansoura east winds The direction of the western mainland is from the reconciling wind to the direction coming from Mansoura to Cairo.
