The Minister of Economy and Trade, “Mohammed Al-Hawij,” issued a decision prohibiting the transfer of food commodities supplied and manufactured locally in violation of the Libyan specifications and standards approved by the National Center for Libyan Standards and Standards.
In its second article, the decision stipulated that bottled drinking water should be transported according to standard specifications in appropriate boxes made of plastic or cardboard that achieve the necessary protection for the product during transportation and distribution.
The decision stressed the need to preserve the properties of natural, chemical and biological commodities, and they should not be exposed to direct sunlight during transportation and distribution, according to the decision.
The decision also stipulates in its third article that when transporting vegetables, fruits, meat, milk and their derivatives, they must be transported in a refrigerated means of transport designed in a way that guarantees complete isolation to protect them from temperature and humidity.
The decision also stipulated that vegetables and fruits be sorted before the loading process, and materials with odors must be sorted with preliminary cooling of the means of transport before the loading process in sufficient time.
The decision stressed the need for the means of transport to be inspected periodically and to adhere to cleanliness and disinfection, in addition to the commitment of workers to personal hygiene and healthy behavior by wearing protective clothing and special shoes and washing hands, while prohibiting smoking and eating inside the means of transport.
The decision authorized the Ministry of the Interior and the police agencies to take the necessary measures against all those who violate the laws and decisions in force and violators of the Libyan standards and specifications approved for the transport of goods.
