The Ministry of Finance (MF) planned, in August 2023, loans from commercial banks in the amount of 4.6 billion lei, to which the amount of 645 million lei can be added through additional sessions of non-competitive offers, related to bond auctions .

The total amount, of 5.245 billion lei, is 645 billion lei higher than the one that was scheduled in July, of 4.6 billion lei, and will be used to refinance the public debt and finance the state budget deficit.
According to the prospectus published in the Official Gazette, on August 17, an auction will be organized for an issue of certificates with a discount, in the amount of 300 million lei, due on February 28, 2024.
Also, during August, nine issues of benchmark bonds will be launched, with a total value of 4.3 billion lei, followed the next day by an additional session of non-competitive offers, with a value of 15% of the initial value of the bond issue (645 million lei in total).
Thus, auctions were scheduled for a bond issue of 300 million lei on August 3, and for eight issues of 500 million lei on August 3, August 7, August 10, August 17, August 21, August 24, August 28 and August 31. (Agerpress)
