He is the man who, as the founder of Operation Underground Railroad, dedicated his entire life to freeing children from the vicious cycle of human trafficking. By the way, since the pandemic, there has not been an independent film that was able to cross the $100 million mark in the USA. The reason why many people are talking about the film in particular is the fact that it reached such a high level despite the opposition of the big Hollywood distributors and studios. And this shows that this has become a “people’s film”. Come to think of it, many mainstream critics and portals classified the work as a simple conspiracy theory, calling it a rant without any concrete facts. However, the story of Jeffrey Epstein may be on the minds of Hungarian people (not least thanks to the Netflix documentary available in our country), along with several similar Hungarian cases. So it’s no surprise that it really hit home with people in the USA as well. In addition to Caviezel’s work, the film was able to reach this level thanks to producer Eduardo Verastegui and the president of Goya Foods, Bob Unanue. Because Sound of Freedom was basically a work commissioned by 20th Century Fox, which was quickly shelved to collect dust. However, the president of Goya Foods put a significant sum on the table to buy out the film and finally push it to cinemas. We hope that some independent cinemas will show the film in Hungary as well.
