Immediate appearance

To combat human trafficking, support with the country of departure must be strengthened to ensure protection of displaced people close to home and offer them aid and economic prospects. Another request: better support for unaccompanied foreign minorss.

In the area of security, the Liberals are proposing to no longer allow the release of repeat offenders before two thirds of the sentencee. They plead for an immediate appearance procedure for simple acts, and the execution of short sentences of eight days to two years. The MR is also in favor of tougher sanctions against hard drug userswhich contribute “to the financing of criminal organizations”.

“Make the thugs pay”

Beyond a request to strengthen the budgetary resources of the police and Justice, the MR wishes to strengthen prevention on the ground via a stronger presence of police patrols and peace guards. To fight against a particularly urban phenomenon, it is necessary, in his eyes, make the thugs payeven if this is when they have found a job, in the event of no income at the time of the offense.

In terms of health, the French-speaking blues intend to support doctors who set up in areas with a shortage of healthcare providers. And a strengthening of work incapacity criteria. Another sensitive subject: the MR wants refocus mutual societies on their essential missions, which “will make it possible to significantly reduce their administration costs”, and to put an end to “conflicts of interest” when they are themselves healthcare providers and owners of hospitals and polyclinics, or market additional hospitalization insurance. The Reform Movement also defends a recognition of the arduousness of certain nursing profession exercises to enable them either to retire before retirement or to continue working.

Compulsory education from age three

In the field of education, the MR is in favor of a compulsory education from the age of three (currently five years old, Editor’s note) to allow better socialization of children and greater equality of opportunity. It requires certification assessments at the end of primary 3 and 6 as well as secondary 3 and 6, with a passing threshold of 60% and a compulsory orientation test at the end of secondary school. In the eyes of reformers, the daily school schedule must be extended and put more in tune with the child’s biorhythm, by inserting cultural and sporting activities at times when concentration is relaxed and by allowing more remediation and educational support.

Finally, the MR program now includes new climate priorities: concentrate tax advantages and zero-interest loans on energy sieves; align public policies to encourage the establishment of companies specializing in neighborhood renovation; promote all technological developments in mobility without taking sides with one solution or the other; expand the measure allowing you to exchange your company car for housing solutions… More broadly, the liberal group is in favor of a reindustrialization of the sectors necessary for the transitionparticularly those of metals and materials, as well as the development of a mineral recycling sector.
