Yet expected for this year, the multiplayer shooter ARC Raiders had not given any sign of life since its announcement eight months ago. It is therefore not really a surprise when we are told that the title is postponed to 2023. A simple formality, which confirms to us that we will have to wait a little longer before getting our hands on it.
The mission will wait
Announcement at the Game Awards ceremony last December, ARC Raiders is an upcoming free-to-play third-person shooter action game. If the title made some waves during its presentation, it is because it is developed by Embark Studios, an ambitious new team led by Patrick Söderlund, former manager at DICE.
Unfortunately, it will be necessary to wait until 2023 before playing it : “We have made the decision to push ARC Raiders to 2023. Arc Raiders is an ambition game and we will use this extra time to expand the experience and allow it to reach its full potential. We’ll go into more detail as we begin testing the game more thoroughly with players. The excitement around ARC Raiders since its reveal has been so encouraging for us, and we really appreciate your support” the studio statement reads.
Patience patience therefore. ARC Raiders is planned for 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. We can imagine a new appearance at a future conference organized by Geoff Keighley, probably at the end of the year.
