During the night from Saturday to Sunday, the individual went to the Heusy police station, for an undetermined reason. “He was in a daze. He pounded on the front door and then entered the police station,” said division prosecutor Gilles de Villers Grand Champs. “His behavior was problematic and he had to be controlled by the agents. He calmed down, then quickly lost consciousness”, details the prosecutor.
The police gave him first aid and called the ambulance, but the Verviétois died.
“An investigation has been opened by the PJF. A forensic pathologist and the laboratory descended on the scene. It appears from the first elements of the investigation that there was no police violence and that the death was caused natural, due to a heart problem”, concludes the division prosecutor.
