The National Assembly of Djibouti passed a law on Thursday 13 October classifying the FRUD-Armé among the “terrorist groups”. In the presence of the Prime Minister and the government, the National Assembly, very largely dominated by the presidential majority, paid tribute to the soldiers killed in Friday’s attack. The law was passed unanimously, according to its communications department.
International arrest warrants now possible
Until then, Djiboutian officials had already described the FRUD-armé as “ terrorist “, but this time, it is enshrined in law. This concretely means that the response will henceforth be harsher for all those found guilty of association, complicity or collaboration with the FRUD-armé.
