The Nets will face the Sixers in their first preseason game

A few preseason posters are starting to leak to the media and today we learned that the Nets and the Sixers will face each other on October 3. A match that smells of sulfur to preheat, hard to ask for better!

We tend to talk so much about the future trade of Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving, if there is a trade, that we quickly forget that the Nets must also prepare for an NBA season which will quickly approach. In a little over two months, the training camps will open and it will then be necessary to go through several preseason games to gain rhythm before the resumption of the NBA season. Who will still wear the Brooklyn black jersey at this time? Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, both, neither? Cam Thomas as a franchise player? The mystery remains but we at least know the program of Steve Nash’s group for the preseason. Four games are on the Nets’ schedule with the reception of the Sixers (October 3), then the Heat (October 6), before visiting Milwaukee (October 12) and finishing in Minnesota (October 14), to challenge Rudy Gobert and his new friends.

Several concrete posters, but the one that stands out is still this Nets-Sixers at the start of the preseason. It’s hard to do a better scenario than this with two teams that aren’t really the best of friends (KD and Embiid can attest to that) and were able to share a lot of drama in common last year, culminating in this XXL exchange between James Harden and Ben Simmons. Both players wanted to get out, both players got what they wanted but the fans obviously haven’t forgotten the boxing it put in each franchise. The Sixers’ arrival in Brooklyn will also mark Harden’s first return to the Barclays Center floor.. Indeed, the bearded man had once played the Nets on a regular basis after his trade but the match had taken place at the Wells Fargo Center and Philly had taken a correction at home. We imagine that the public of Brooklyn will know how to welcome their former player in their own way. This game could also serve as a reunion for the Sixers and Ben Simmons. While he has not played a single official match since June 20, 2021, the famous second round of the Playoffs against the Hawks, the Australian seems to be slowly but surely approaching a return to competition. And if this famous comeback took place against… the Sixers? The story would be so beautiful and we can’t wait to see the first duels at the post with Joel Embiid. Obviously, this is only the first pre-season game, so everyone’s playing time will, as often, be severely limited, but it could at least allow us to see the summer work of a few boys like a James Harden that we already announce enough sharpened.

The Nets will play the Sixers in preseason and it promises a friendly reunion between James Harden and the Nets public on the one hand and the Ben Simmons / Sixers tandem on the other. Putting oil on the fire from the preseason, we don’t say no huh.
