Another clone has appeared in the lineup of the Stellantis concern. The new “heel” Fiat Doblo is a colleague of models Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Rifter/Partner, Opel/Vauxhall Combo i Toyota ProAce City. This family debuted in 2018, although by commercial vehicle standards it’s still fresh. And certainly the new badging-engineering Fiat Doblo is more modern than the outgoing original second-generation Doblo, which has been produced since 2010.
From relatives under other brands, the new Doblo differs slightly. And the greatest unification – with van Citroen Berlingo: the front bumper and headlights are borrowed from him. Only the front lining, small decor and nameplates are made original. But if the passenger Berlingo has a completely different face in the style of cars of this brand, then Doblo has the same design for all versions – passenger, cargo and combi.
Modifications are offered with a length of 4.4 or 4.75 m, in the second case, you can order a third row of seats. The interior of the new Doblo is exactly the same as that of its counterparts: only the emblem on the steering wheel has its own. On the second row there are three separate seats with individual adjustments and Isofix mounts. The set of options is unified, but fiat marketers have invented “magic” names. For example, an interior mirror with an integrated screen is a Magic Mirror, a glass roof is a Magic Top, and a sliding rear window is a Magic Window.
Passenger Fiat is offered only in an electric version called E-Doblo. Back in January, the Stellantis concern announcedthat in the European market, passenger “heels” and twin minivans will remain only in battery modifications. This is to avoid penalties for exceeding average CO emissions.2 by model range. Fiat E-Doblo has an electric motor with a return of 136 hp. and 260 Nm, traction battery capacity – 50 kWh, cruising range – 280 km on the WLTP cycle: everything is like the other twins.
The van can be not only electric, but also with an internal combustion engine, in this case, the load capacity is increased from 800 kg to 1000 kg. The choice is a 1.2 petrol turbo engine (110 hp) and a 1.5 turbodiesel (100 or 130 hp). All versions have a manual transmission, and an eight-speed automatic is an option for 130-horsepower cars.
The new Fiat Doblo will be produced at the same Stellantis plant in Spain, where heels are made under other brands. In parallel, the production of the second generation Doblo will continue in Turkey: this model will leave Europe, but under the Ram brand, these cars are also delivered to North and South America.
