The new President of the ECOWAS Commission received by the Head of State

The Head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, received, on August 18, 2022 in Lomé II, the new President of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Mr. Omar Alieu Touray. On leaving the hearing, Mr. Omar Alieu Touray declared that he had just taken office as President of the ECOWAS Commission, and as such, went to present his gratitude to the President of the Republic, to the Government and to the Togolese people, for all the support given to his team.

« As you know, we now have a small commission. Instead of 15 members, we are now 7. We need the support of all ECOWAS member countries. This is why I have decided to come and ask for the renewed support of the President of the Togolese Republic. “, confided Mr. Touray.

The new President of the ECOWAS Commission also reassured that he will continue to work for the development of the sub-region.
