The New Zealand player scores a hat-trick by owning her own goal

New Zealand defender Michaela Moore scored three goals by mistake during the 5-0 loss to the United States in a friendly women’s soccer tournament Sunday evening (Monday morning local time).

Moore, the Liverpool defender, scored the hat-trick during unsuccessful attempts to distract with her right foot, head and left foot, so the ball landed inside New Zealand’s net in the 5, 6 and 36 minutes.

The 25-year-old walked off the field four minutes before the break and was replaced by Rebecca Scott.

“Every player plays, no matter their level, she plays great matches and other tough matches, and Moore has had a tough day,” New Zealand coach Yitka Klimkova said.

She added, “Of course, she is sad and frustrated, but she is a wonderful personality and a player associated with the team.” We all support her at this difficult time in her career.

America was also recorded by Ashley Hatch and Mallory Pew.

America will play Iceland in the final round of the tournament on Wednesday and will need a win to retain the title, while a draw will be enough for Iceland to win the title for the first time.
