Senior Champions and Rising Stars Set for the Premier Tournament
The New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) justo unveiled the G1 Climax 35 participants during its Dominion 2025 show. In a highly anticipated Pay-Per-View event, the names of most of the wrestlers participating in the 35th edition of the prestigious G1 Climax were announced. The tournament is scheduled to take place from July 19 to August 17.
Block A Welcomes IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hirooki Goto
In Block A, fans will see the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Hirooki Goto, defend his title. Joining him are notable names like The Ace, Tanahashi, who announced this would be his final G1 Climax appearance, and the new NJPW Never Openweight Champion, Oleg Boltin.
Other Block A participants include Yuya Uemura, Yota Tsuji, David Finlay, EVIL, and SANADA. Two more spots remain to be decided in the “Contestant Decision Match” on June 23 and July 4.
Block B Features Former Champions and Exceptional Talent
Block B includes a mix of former and current champions. Zack Sabre Jr., winner of G1 Climax 34 and former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, will be joined by the new IWGP multinational weight champion Gabe Kidd. Additional participants in Block B include The Phantasm, Shota Umino, Shingo Takagi, Great-O-Khan, and Ren Narita. Konosuke Takeshita, who lost the Never Openweight title to Boltin, will also be in action.
Similar to Block A, two positions in Block B are yet to be confirmed.
