the essentials Various partners are joining forces to raise awareness among the population about the harmful effects of tobacco, notably with a presence on the Decazeville market, Tuesday October 10.
It is difficult to get rid of the need to smoke which causes discomfort, impacts pregnancy and quality of life, can cause cancer and cardiovascular diseases and represents a significant budget. Several partners have united to raise awareness of the negative effects of smoking on the occasion of “No Tobacco Month” through a campaign to encourage smokers to register and support them in their approach while reducing social health inequalities.
A village Month without tobacco on the market
Tobacco-free month targets the general public but also young people.
The Mois sans tobacco village will be held this year on October 10, on Place Cabrol in Decazeville, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (for the general public), and at the Découverte high school, from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ( which will be dedicated to high school students). This is a multi-partner action, which the Aveyron departmental delegation of the Occitanie Regional Health Agency is piloting with substantial support from the Regional Health Education and Promotion Bodies (IREPS), Epidaure and from Decazeville town hall. The presence of numerous professionals will make it possible to offer information stands on the No Tobacco Month campaign – with distribution of cessation aid kits, leaflets, orientation to resource structures, etc. –, workshops, a lively stand with quizzes, a digital space with the broadcast of spots, testimonials and short films, motivational interviews, physical activities and nutrition workshops.
The partners of the action: ARS Aveyron departmental delegation, IREPS Occitanie, Decazeville town hall, La Découverte high school, Mutualité Française Occitanie, Decazeville health center, Hygiénavie, Maternal and child protection (PMI), Local Mission, League against cancer and the Decazeville hospital center for cancer screening.
