Typhoon Xuan Lannuo brought abundant rainfall to northern Taiwan. The accumulated rainfall in the Shimen Reservoir catchment area exceeded 330 mm for 3 days, and the water storage rate of the reservoir reached more than 92%. The North Water Bureau also opened the Amuping silt prevention tunnel for the first time at 10 am this morning to verify the tunnel’s flood discharge and silt prevention functions. The North District Water Resources Bureau issued a press release in the morning, stating that Xuan Lannuo brought abundant rainfall. The North Water Bureau started the power plant at 3:00 pm yesterday and started the power plant with full-load power generation, and at the same time carried out flood and sand discharge operations from the reservoir.
