The number of active Moroccan exporters is increasing

With an average annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.7%, the number of active exporters in Morocco stood at 4,309 operators in 2019 once morest 3,226 in 2011, indicates the Foreign Exchange Office in a study entitled “Multidimensional Analysis of the evolution of the profile of active Moroccan exporters”.

These operators represent an average share of 62.1% of the total number of exporters in Morocco between 2011 and 2019, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

In terms of export turnover, active exporters achieve 99.3% of total export turnover for the same period, the same source said, adding that active exporters in Morocco, made up of 60.7% of very small and small exporters.

Analysis of these performances by sector reveals that active exporters in the “Automotive industry” sector achieve the highest growth in terms of export turnover with a CAGR of 33.9%.

At the same time, active exporters in the “Agriculture, forestry and hunting” sector recorded the largest increase in the number of active exporters with an CAGR of 8.7%, increasing from 354 active exporters in 2011 to 691 active exporters in 2019.
