On Monday, January 17, the Omani Ministry of Energy and Minerals and the British company BP signed a framework agreement for strategic action.
The ministry added that it had signed an agreement to collect renewable energy data to support renewable energy development projects at a global level and to develop green hydrogen in the Sultanate of Oman by 2030.
As part of the agreement, BP will record and evaluate solar and wind energy data over an area of 8,000 square kilometres.
The study will help the Sultanate of Oman to make a decision towards building one or two centers for renewable energy in providing the energy required to develop green hydrogen as well, which will be exported to local and global markets.
