This Saturday, September 10, King Charles III was officially proclaimed the new monarch of the United Kingdom in a historic ceremony at St. James’s Palace, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

However, a striking request made by the new monarch at a key moment of the ceremony went viral on social networks.

As he prepared to sign his proclamation as king, Charles angrily gestured for his attendants to move something from the table.

After they moved a pen that was there, the monarch continued to wave his hand to stir the inkwell that was on the desk.

The moment was captured by the cameras and quickly went viral on networks due to the particular request of the new monarch.
