The plan of the Police to deal with violence against minors – 2024-04-07 20:01:15

The Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Greek Police prioritize the protection of minors. From the last ten days of January 2024, a set of actions is implemented, which aim to prevent and deal with delinquency, which manifests itself among young people.

In the evening hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a soft policing action is implemented, by trained female and male police officers, in neighborhoods, squares and places where young people gather and where incidents of delinquency have occurred. The action aims to prevent violence and attacks against young people and to strengthen the sense of security of themselves and their parents, through the visible police presence.

In the cases where incidents of violence and delinquency occurred, arrests were made. The action of soft policing has been positively evaluated by minors and parents, who approach the police, talk to them and get informed about issues that concern them.
