The players didn’t like it at all! Bayern suddenly sells unpopular cult jersey again | Sports

Will the stars from back then come here again?

Last year there was a lot of fuss about a very special Bayern shirt from the 90s: the yellow and green Bayern away shirt.

Ex-defender Thomas Helmer (57) made fun of it on Instagram: “Nobody on my team liked this canary jersey. Our team also survived this idiosyncratic color combination and became German Champion in 1993/1994. Everyone was happy when the jersey got dusty after just two seasons.”

But now the jersey is making a surprising comeback: Bayern is suddenly selling it again in its official shop!

How does this happen?

The whole thing is called “Adidas Icon Collection – a homage to the 90s”. You can buy a retro version of the shirt for 79.95 euros – but without the “Opel” sponsor imprint from back then.

The green, yellow and black trousers that match the player jersey (for a whopping EUR 59.95) and the yellow, black and red goalkeeper jersey are also available for purchase.

Other Adidas clubs are also selling retro shirts from the 1990s as part of the campaign. But will the yellow Bayern jersey sell like hot cakes…?
