“The comments made by Anne DeBlois are unacceptable and incompatible with liberal values. She will therefore not be a candidate in the 2022 elections for our political party. The Party will soon announce a new candidacy to represent the people of Charlesbourg, ”confirmed the director of communications in the office of the Liberal leader, Jérémy Ghio, Friday morning.
Mme Deblois is also a fierce opponent of the Quebec tramway, a project nevertheless supported by the Liberal Party of Dominique Anglade. However, her positions are well known: she was a candidate for the Conservative Party of Quebec, a member of the board of Quebec 21, in addition to having blogged and tweeted on the issue.
“As a good curator, my heart bleeds when I think of the final bill that awaits us if the tramway project of the outgoing mayor of Quebec Régis Labeaume is finally put into service…”, she wrote on her blog on June 11, 2021 .
A few months earlier, she promised herself to go and vote in the municipal elections to “give the following message to the entire political class: no more major projects on the backs of the population”. “I will make it a personal fight,” she wrote.
In February, she directly challenged Dominique Anglade on Twitter, suggesting that the liberal leader was misinformed in this file.
