The price of Brent oil reached a new record high and exceeded $130 per barrel, beating the 2012 peaks of more than $128, reports RIA Novosti with reference to trading data.

As of 2:28 am Moscow time, May futures added 9.35 percent to $129.06 per barrel. April futures for WTI rose 9.68 percent to $126.12.

At 2:06 a.m., the price of Brent, according to trading data, rose to $130.3, and the maximum value was $130.89. The historical maximum of this brand of oil was recorded in 2008, when the cost of a barrel exceeded $143.

Earlier, on March 3, the cost of May futures for Brent crude exceeded $118 per barrel for the first time since February 2013.

Against the backdrop of a difficult geopolitical situation in the world, the international rating agency S&P increased oil price forecast for the next three years. Analysts suggest that in 2022 Brent will rise in price from $75 to $85 per barrel, WTI – from $70 to $80. In 2023, Brent predicted growth from $65 to $70, WTI from $60 to $65.
