The price of gold rose today, Thursday, in Egypt, with the beginning of trading, and the gram increased by 50 pounds, compared to yesterday’s prices, despite the global decline in the metal.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates for the seventh time this year, and the rate of increase came by 0.5%, in line with expectations, so that interest rates would be between 4.25% and 4.5%.
Yesterday’s decision means reducing the pace of interest rate hikes initiated by the Federal Reserve (the US Central Bank) since last March.
Gold prices today
The price of 14 karat gold increased to 1133 pounds per gram.
The price of 18 karat gold rose to 1457 pounds per gram.
The price of 21 karat gold rose to 1,700 pounds per gram.
And the price of 24 karat gold rose to 1943 pounds per gram.
The price of the gold pound
The price of the gold pound increased to 13,600 pounds, and the price may vary from one merchant to another, and this price is equal to the value of gold in the pound.
The global price of gold
The price of gold fell globally in the first hours of trading today, Thursday, to about $1,792 an ounce, a decline of 0.80%, according to Bloomberg agency data.
