The price of the US dollar in Lebanon, in black market transactions against the Lebanese pound, reached the level of 47,700 pounds for purchase, and 46,400 pounds for sale, after it was yesterday at the level of 46,300 pounds for purchase, and 46,000 pounds for sale against the US dollar.

The price of the dollar reached through an exchange platform against the pound, at 38,000 Lebanese pounds per dollar, according to the exchange rates of the operations carried out by banks and exchange institutions on the platform.

The Central Bank of Lebanon announced that the exchange rate of withdrawals from dollar deposits in Lebanese pounds reached 8,000 pounds per dollar.

The reason for the decline of the Lebanese pound against the dollar
The Lebanese pound began to gradually decline since 2019 against the US dollar, coinciding with an acute liquidity crisis and banks stopping providing depositors with their money in dollars, while the official exchange rate is still fixed at 1507 pounds.

The exchange rates of the US dollar on the black market, against the Syrian pound, in the markets of the capital, Damascus, recorded 6,390 pounds for purchase, compared to 6,460 pounds for sale for the US dollar.

The Syrian pound continued to fall against the US dollar on the black market, as the Syrian pound suffered a decline at its lowest levels since the beginning of the conflict in 2011, as it lost most of its value on the black market.
