Find out what you need to know regarding the 1st stage of the Tour de France 2023.
The 2023 edition of the Tour de France will start in Spain. It will offer a long loop on a rugged 182 km route around Bilbao, the largest city in the Basque Country which will host the Grande Boucle for the very first time. This first Basque piece, which will end in front of the Guggenheim Museum, is intended for punchers.
First difficulty : the coast of Laukiz following 13.8 kilometers over 2.2 km at 6.9%. Five referenced ribs will be on the menu, including 3 in the finale which is likely to be animated.
Last difficulty : the Pike climb with 2 kms at 10% (including the last 500 meters at 15.6%) will end 10 kilometers from the finish.
