The proof from Gedaref: There is no dialogue until the end of the battle

Sudan – The head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, said yesterday, Wednesday, that each of the “Khans” has no role in running the country in the future, stressing that there is no dialogue until after the end of the battle.

In a brief speech shortly after his performance of the Eid al-Fitr prayer yesterday, Al-Burhan stated that Sudan would only be run by those who withstood the injustice and violations of what he called the militias.

In his speech in one of the mosques of Gedaref (east), the head of the Sovereignty Council continued that there is no dialogue until after the end of the battle, saying that “our next Eid, God willing, will be without Janjaweed, mercenaries, or agents.”

Al-Burhan also said that the Sudanese have begun to distinguish between those who support them and those who stand against them inside or outside the country.

Al-Burhan’s statements came during a visit in which he inspected a number of the wounded, a day after an attack by unknown drones that targeted sites in Gedaref.

It also came at a time when the Sudanese army was launching military operations in several axes to regain areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces in Greater Khartoum, Al-Jazira (central), and Darfur (west).

It is noteworthy that this fighting began on April 15, 2023 between the army led by Al-Burhan and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemedti), the former second-in-command of the military authority, and led to the killing of thousands of people.

It also resulted in the displacement of about 8 million others, more than 1.5 million of whom took refuge in neighboring countries, according to the United Nations. It also caused a humanitarian catastrophe, as about 25 million people (more than half of the population) need aid, including about 18 million who face severe food insecurity, according to UN data.
