The publication of a guide for supporting autistic children is an important achievement for the children’s sector

The expert and researcher in the field of the family and childhood and adviser to the judge of the family Brahim Rihani, underlined that the publication of a guide for the accompaniment and education of autistic children for the first time in Tunisia, constitutes an important achievement for the childhood sector and will help the family and the educators in the care of the autistic child.

Rihani said Sunday in a statement to TAP, that this guide, which was developed by experts in the childhood sector, educational executives and psychologists, takes into account the psychological and pedagogical aspects in the education of children with autism.

He called on all the structures concerned to resolve issues related to the integration of autistic children in public educational establishments and to adopt an effective strategy for the care of this category of children whose number has increased.

This guide includes comparative data between a healthy child and an autistic child, a diagnosis of the symptoms of autism and specific educational programs for this category of children under and over 3 years of age.

It should be noted that the publication of this guide was announced yesterday Saturday in Mornag (governorate of Ben Arous) during an information day on the theme “For a better future for autistic children” organized on the initiative of the association of autistic young people, the training center under the ministry of vocational training and employment, with the participation of the national organization for education and the family, the regional chamber of kindergartens and the municipality of Boumhel.
