The Pumas 7’s defeated France in Group D

The Cougars 7’s they defeated France by 21 to 12 and will define Group D of the Seven de Vancouver ante South Africa Saturday at 6:26 p.m. Previously in their debut, they beat Japan by 31 to 12. The entire tournament can be enjoyed live through Star+.

After six stages played, Los Pumas 7’s are second in the overall World Tour table with 86 points. Currently, they are in the direct qualifying zone for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

France tried to advance and get out of their playing field but found it almost impossible given the strength of the Albicelestes at the points of contact. The complement showed the Gauls with a greater intention to attack, hence their two conquests. However, those led by Gómez Cora prevailed defensively and managed to win the result.

LOS PUMAS 7’S 31-12 JAPAN (Friday)

In a highly unequal match, those led by Santiago Gómez Cora began their adventure in the Canadian Sevens with an overwhelming victory. Within a minute of play, Marcos Moneta was the author of the first try after closely following a good individual play by Santiago Álvarez. In the first half, the Argentines were very poignant and thus converted another two conquests in the hands of Luciano González and Tobías Wade. Before halftime, Kippei Ishida scored the first try for the Japanese. In the second half, the Asians managed to level the game, but the arrivals of Tomás Elizalde and Franco Rossetto at the goal marked the way to victory.
