The financial impact of the pension reform continues to be debated. The projections for the evolution of the pension system validated this Thursday by the Pensions Orientation Council (COR) do not make it possible to decipher more precisely the savings generated by the postponement of the legal age.
According to the independent body, the pension system should remain in the red in 2030 with a deficit of 0.2% of GDP, or close to 6 billion euros. This projection contrasts with that of the government, which explained that by generating nearly 18 billion euros in savings, the reform should bring the accounts back to balance in 2030.
