The Queen of Denmark positive for Covid two days after the funeral of Elizabeth II

Margrethe II traveled to London on Monday to attend the funeral of Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey. The sovereign tested positive on Tuesday evening.

Was there a royal cluster in London? Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, 82, announced this Wednesday to be positive for Covid. An announcement that comes just two days following the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey.

“Her Majesty The Queen tested positive for COVID-19 last night and is currently staying at Fredensborg Palace. The Queen’s activities this week have therefore been cancelled,” a press release read.

“Friday’s evening at Christiansborg Castle for Danish members of the government, the Folketing (Danish parliament) and the European Parliament will take place with the Crown Prince and Crown Princess as hosts.”

The funeral of Elizabeth II on Monday was attended by 500 dignitaries from around the world, including French President Emmanuel Macron and his American counterpart Joe Biden.
