Mikati’s media office denied, in a statement, “the Free Patriotic Movement’s allegations that the Prime Minister agreed to pay the financial aid allocated to the displaced Syrians in US dollars at the request of the High Commissioner for Refugees.”

He explained: “It is true that these funds are mainly transferred in dollars, since the days of previous governments, and the prime minister has no authority in this matter, noting that the ministers of the “current” actively participate in the meetings that the Prime Minister holds with international organizations and bodies and are aware of the size of the problems and complexities that It surrounds this file in which internal factors overlap with international and Arab considerations.

The statement also continued: “As for trying to access this file to undermine the government or to create an escalatory and provocative atmosphere, this is something that will not be useful, and it is more useful, instead of launching false accusations, for everyone to cooperate with the government in an effort to reach a solution by understanding with the countries and organizations concerned. Note that discussions are still ongoing with the concerned international bodies to follow up on this issue, with the knowledge of the “current” ministers.

In the context, he pointed out that “all the showy steps previously taken by the “current” and the conferences it held did not go beyond the framework of the media pumping, and nothing more.”

He stressed that “the claim of the Free Patriotic Movement that the prime minister is subject to the desires of the outside to keep the displaced in Lebanon in Lebanon is just a fabrication that has nothing to do with reality, especially since the” movement “which actually handles the tasks of the displaced file knows the size of the complexities in this thorny file and the impossibility of resolving it by a unilateral Lebanese decision.” .

On the other hand, he pointed out that “the talk of the Free Patriotic Movement about the alleged role of the prime minister in the possibility of classifying Lebanon in the gray zone internationally is completely incorrect, because what the prime minister and the government are doing is trying to maintain the functioning of state institutions while waiting.” Election of the President of the Republic.

The media office of Mikati asked the “current”: “Is the rumors about Lebanon’s status on the gray list caused by the current government’s work to preserve the country, and the reform projects that it approved and are awaiting final approval in accordance with parliamentary principles, or as a result of the accumulations of what has been done in the past years that it was?” The current is “a key participant in its decisions, during a reign that lasted six years and before, in the legislative and executive branches.”

And he added: “As it should be, next, if the movement’s “logic” is to be adopted in approaching the issue of the Governor of the Banque du Liban, reminding the “leadership of the movement” of the basic role of the previous era in extending the ruler.

In this context, he clarified that “the law stipulates procedures to address the issue of the Governor of the Banque du Liban, so let the current, through its justice-speaking minister, give us a legal opinion that allows appropriate measures to be taken against the Governor of the Banque du Liban, contrary to what he said in the last consultative meeting, instead of the “current” shouldering. With construction statements and media smoke bombs that have no effect other than an attempt to sow ashes in the eyes.”
