Claudio PRC – Challenger Deep (Delsin)

Claudio PRC doesn’t make any music that can be grasped by just skipping through the record store. The arcs of suspense in his tracks are long and therefore leisurely structured, drama is not achieved through musical glutamate, but through finely dosed elements on different musical levels. The title of this EP could therefore also be interpreted in such a way that the depth in his music, which is often referred to as deep techno, is a challenge that must be accepted in order to experience its essence.

And it works, the tracks open Challenger Deep captivate when given time. Best at high volume. And even better in company, dancing, partying. Because that’s ultimately what this music, which appears calm and ambient at a quick check, actually carries: something ecstatic that can achieve an amazingly engaging and rousing effect without hysteria and sensationalism.
