As expected, the Red Magic brand has officially presented its new range of gaming smartphones. It is made up of the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+ models which promise exceptional performance in an equally attractive design. Currently available in China, here are all the details before marketing in France.
As announced by the brand itself, a few days ago, Red Magic formalized its new high-end gaming smartphones, Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+.
The Red Magic 9 Pro series is equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, making it one of the first series of Android smartphones to integrate this technology. With up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+ offer very high level performance and perfectly fluid multitasking. The Red Magic 9 Pro is available in several configurations: 8+256 GB, 12+256 GB or 12+512 GB (black model), 12+256 GB or 12+512 GB (transparent silver or transparent black model). For its part, the Red Magic 9 Pro+ finish is offered with: 16+256 GB, 16+512 GB or 24 GB+1 TB (black model) and 16+256 GB or 16+512 GB (transparent silver or transparent black model ).
Common characteristics
Both phones feature the same screen. It’s about a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel manufactured by BOE with a definition of 1116×2480 pixels. The brand announces a maximum brightness of 1600 cd/m². Note the front camera, 5th generation, under the screen which allows you to have a complete display, without any punch.
The screens benefit from a refresh rate of 120 Hz for smooth scrolling and an advantage in video games. Also note the touch sampling rate which can give an advantage for gaming, 960 Hz. Inside, there is a improved ICE 13 cooling system, including a built-in 22,000 rpm fan with customizable RGB lighting. Red Magic announces an operating noise of only 4 dB, so barely audible for the fan. The ICE 13 system relies on a single-layer vapor chamber plate allowing for increased heat dissipation.
Differences in battery capacities
Apart from the separate RAM and ROM capacities for the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+ models, they have batteries of different capacities. Count on 6500 mAh for the 9 Pro and 5500 mAh for the 9 Pro+. In addition, the first supports charging at 80 watts compared to 165 watts for the second, thus offering fast charging speeds. Both smartphones are Wi-Fi 6E compatible with the option to upgrade to Wi-Fi 7 with an update. They also support Bluetooth 5.3 as well as NFC contactless technology and include a infrared emitter to turn them into a universal remote control. There is a fingerprint reader under the screen to authenticate the owner.

Availability of Red Magic 9 Pro
At the moment, the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+ smartphones are available in China from November 28. An announcement will be made on December 18 regarding their availability and their respective prices in Europe and particularly in France, according to the different configurations presented. Pre-orders will be possible from December 27, 2023 for sales effective from January 3, 2024. Not sure that both models are available, because in France, in particular, only the Red Magic 8 Pro was offered before being joined by the Red Magic 8S Pro.
