That leaves the Remco Evenepoel case. He is not directly linked to the Austrian firm but to Specialized, a bicycle manufacturer supplying both the Soudal-Quick Step and also the Bora-Hansgrohe. A few weeks ago, in the midst of controversy linked to the departure of Cian Uijtdebroeks from Visma, Soudal boss Patrick Lefevere revealed that his Bora counterpart, Ralph Denk, had “sent a written offer to the father of Remco as early as 8 March 2022”, while the two men had agreed on a status quo around the Belgian until March 31.
